Project Short Intro

What: European Solidarity Corps project

When: August 19th, 2021 – September 19th, 2021 (1month)

Where: Sumy, Ukraine

Who: 12 volunteers:

3 volunteers from Poland

3 volunteers from Bulgaria

3 volunteers from Italy

3 volunteers from Cyprus

Project Information

This one month project is for 12 enthusiastic volunteers from 4 different countries: Bulgaria, Poland, Cyprus and Italy. It is the result of the cooperation between two organizations from Ukraine and Poland with the input of partner organizations from Italy, Bulgaria and Cyprus.

It addresses to the problem of cultural integration and social exclusion and focuses on the themes of inclusion, youth involvement, citizenship and cultural diversity.

In general the project objectives are:

– promote solidarity among people;

– develop cooperation and mutual understanding;

– promote volunteering as a tool for civic participation and a mechanism for acquiring skills;

– support populations in processes of social exclusion, including minority groups;

– promote intercultural learning.

Volunteers will support young people’s and euroclubs members’ initiatives and participate in various forms of voluntary activities in the summer camps orgnized by CEI and in the partnership with CEI. Volunteers will participate in groups in non-profit, unpaid activities and events.

Project Tasks

The main project activities will be held in the summer camps and school euroclub activities of different forms: public, tent, language, PT, etc.)

Project tasks include:

– organizing part-time city camps for youngsters of 6 – 18 y.o;

– support and organize the meetings of schol euroclubs;

– conduction sport and active games;

– organization various workshops and activities for children and young people;

– distributing ides of Europe, friendship between people and peaceful coexistence;

– promoting cultural diversity and break stereotypes about the volunteer’s countries;

– promotion the European values and active citizenship, civic responsibility, community service,

– leading kids groups;

– teaching leadership skills to youth and provide them with knowledge about EU, European integration;

– explaining and operate with the basic concepts of tolerance, mutual respect, sense of responsibility particular in relation to the world, human rights;

– promoting of solidarity among local youth.

All activities will be developed together with the coordinator of Hosting organization Iryna Novak in accordance with the needs of the participants of the camps.

Participant’s Profile

This short-term project is for creative people who are interested in working with children and teenagers, volunteering and helping people. CEI always encourages volunteers to develop new activities, own initiatives and ideas as long as they are in the framework of the project. We require no specific skills, but happy to have a flexible and creative people. Also we do not require any professional qualifications, but rather interest and enthusiasm.

We are searсhing for young people who:

– are 18-30 years old;

– are enthusiastic and energetic;

– are eager to learn, enjoy working with youth and full of creative ideas;

Strong organizational skills are considered very useful as the ability to communicate in English. In addition, people with singing, dancing, playing musical instruments skills are welcomed.

Hosting organization will be glad if volunteers are able to adapt to new situations, have good problem-solving skills and ready to work and live in the mixed groups of volunteers from different nationalities that will have their project at the same time at CEI.
