19th – 26th of September 2018
“Connecting Roots” was a Training Course developed and organized by Future Europe. The Youth Exchange had a duration from 19-26 of September and it took place in Prencov, Slovakia, a nice village located next to Banská Štiavnica a medieval city protected by UNESCO. 26 participants 2 or 3 of each country, Cyprus, Ireland, Slovakia, Germany, Greece, Croatia, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Bulgaria and Romania.
The training course focused on activities such as “Dragon dreaming”.This method is a systemic design process, a philosophy and a methodological framework, for the realization of collaborative and sustainable projects, organisations and platforms, built upon three principles:
- personal growth– commitment to your own healing and empowerment
- community building– strengthening the communities of which you are a part
- service to the Earth– enhancing the well being and flourishing of all life
Also we had to provide our “dream” on a big poster and share our ideas to make o big common dream for the team. During the project, the social activities stood out, inasmuch they gave us the occasion to socialize with the local people by discovering the village center, historical places and other beautiful places of Slovakia .
The village was extremely close to the nature and it contributed to the amazing experience that we had. We had a lot of outdoor activities like hiking and exploring the nearest forest. One of the main goals of the project it’s to make strong relations with other organizations we haven’t met in the past. I think through the whole program we have accomplished more than we expect. Although the tiring long journey we had a lot of memories to remember.
