The youth exchange “Re-Imagine our waste with Entrepreneurship ” is an educational and hands-on project regarding recycled materials and how to use them in a creative and artistic way in our daily life . Participants will have the chance to discuss and reflect on environmental issues and how the human behavior affects the environment. Our aim is to inspire participants to use this experience in an entrepreneurial way.  The innovative creations can lead to their future career which will also help fighting the unemployment and in the long run it will improve the society crisis.

The exchange will take place in Kannavia village in Nicosia district of Cyprus from 19th to 30th of October 2017. It will involve 48 participants from Cyprus, Austria, Lithuania, Italy, Portugal, Spain,Romania and Poland. It will be particularly promoted to young people in rural areas as well as young people willing to explore the entrepreneurial path through hand-made and environmental friendly crafts.  With this project we want to provide both theoretical and practical experience and inspire participants to explore alternative ways to employment. Thus our activities will be based on hands-on workshops about recycled materials workshops with career experts and entrepreneurs, presentations on environmental issues. We will also organize entrepreneurial study visits, workshops with local practitioners and presentations and group discussions of different practices amongst the participating countries. Project activities will further focus on enhancing creativity and personal development of participants through a variety of games, team-building activities, group discussions, brainstorming, and everyday reflective sessions. To encourage intercultural dialogue and bonding we will organize cultural evenings and spend time together learning the basics from each other’s music, dance, and language. We will further organize a one-day exhibition of our products and activities to disseminate results and exchange ideas with the local community. Making use of the social media, we will maintain a platform of shared practices for facilitating dissemination in our home countries and encourage future collaborations.

The overall objective of the project is to increase the knowledge of young people about how to use recycled materials and exchange good practices in the field of using recycling materials in different youth activities. Our non-formal education approach promotes the creation of environmental friendly hand-made crafts and at the same time promotes entrepreneurship as a way to fight unemployment. Participants acquire knowledge from entrepreneurs and other experts in the field and share their experience between the group. The youth exchange encourages the participants to teach each other and experience the real multi-cultural Europe by comparing habits and practices. The knowledge the participants will gain, the skills they will learn, the contacts they will make, and the personal decisions they will take, is a crucial base from where the change can happen – in their lives and in the lives of people they will inspire by their example.
